Art in Healing Spaces

Sally Retecki has an art consulting business that helps place original art in health care settings. Understanding the healing value of fine art, Sally is working with health care professionals to provide images that nourish and inspire the spirit. I helped her describe the program.

Bookshare Website

Bookshare provides an online library of accessible books for people with print disabilities. They decided to upgrade and revamp their entire site. I helped them organize and edit all the content for the new site, as well as manage the content process.

Consumer Cellular Web Content

Consumer Cellular provides simple, easy-to-use cell phone service. They needed a guide for seniors on how to choose a phone. I wrote the “Cell Phones for Seniors” page to help make the choices clear.

Energy Efficiency for Business

PGE created a new section of their website to provide ideas and resources for businesses interested in becoming more energy efficient in their operations. I worked with a great team of writers to put together the content. We researched the topic areas, conducted interviews with star customers, and pulled it all together in a cohesive whole. My topic areas covered:

PGE Deschutes Passage Website

PGE and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs are jointly working on a project to restore fish passage on the Deschutes River. They needed a website to describe the process, the history of the project and keep people informed of the progress. Working closely with PGE’s team, I wrote the content for the site.

Portland Traditional Acupuncture

Aja Ngo needed effective content on her acupuncture website to attract new clients. Working together, Aja and I identified the qualities that make her acupuncture practice unique. Combining these qualities with clear explanations of the types of service she offers, we put together a set of web pages that appeal to her target audience:

Kaiser Permanente case study

The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) needed a case study for their BetterBricks program that described how Kaiser Permanente had improved the energy efficiency of their East Interstate Medical Office. After interviewing the participants, I wrote up the case.

Production Efficiency Fact Sheet

The Energy Trust of Oregon needed a clear description of their Production Efficiency program to provide to businesses around the state. I helped pull together the information and organize it in a straightforward manner.

PGE Multifamily Housing Brochure

Owners and property managers of multifamily dwellings have significant opportunities to save both money and energy through energy efficient operations. Portland General Electric (PGE) needed a clear, straightforward way to convey these benefits to building owners in the area. This was a fun project and the people at PGE were wonderful. We brainstormed the main ideas and I wrote up the content for the brochure. The designers did a great job with the layout.

Collaboration through Consultation

This book explains the principles of consultation, a potent process for group collaboration. It welcomes and draws on diverse points of view to seek out the truth of an issue and forge a wise course of action for the benefit of all.
