case study for Schrödinger, LLC, makers
of molecular modeling software:
“Best computational docking program.
In a recent study conducted at Johnson & Johnson
Pharmaceutical Research and Development Lab, researchers
set out to compare the accuracy of 5 docking programs
currently on the market: DOCK, FlexX, Glide, GOLD and
LigandFit.
The researchers chose 69 protein-ligand complexes
from 14 receptor families with a wide spectrum of characteristics.
The proteins varied in their crystallographic resolution
and represented a range of active site topologies and
water accessibilities. Some active sites contained
metals in the binding pocket. In addition, the receptor-bound
ligands varied significantly in their flexibility and
activity ranging from low micromolar to nanomolar...” more

would people treat each other? Would there be a place to gather and chat and
enjoy the sunshine...?” more

were spin-offs of Tektronix, Intel or IBM. Others were
home-grown enterprises, operating out of garages. Many
started with just an idea and a friend. They knew they
were on to something, but didn’t know who else
was out there...” more

“Stereoscopic Vision and 3D
When you see the world through both eyes, you are
actually looking at two pictures merged into one. Your
right eye and your left eye each deliver a separate
image to your brain, which meshes these two images
into one three-dimensional picture...” more
